The 6th Science Centre World Congress will be held in Cape Town, South Africa, 4-8 September 2011. Enjoy stimulating congress sessions, challenging workshops and lively debates.
Your hosts, the MTN Sciencentre, the Southern African Association of Science and Technology Centres, and the North Africa and Middle East Science Centers Network, look forward to welcoming you to Cape Town.
With the theme “Science Across Cultures”, the 6th Science Centre World Congress will encourage reconciliation between different cultures and a greater appreciation of the role that science centres can play in highlighting each culture's unique contributions to science, technology and science education.
What you can expect from the 6SCWC:
> A registration package which includes access to all congress sessions and materials, meals and refreshments on congress days, invitations to attend the lively Welcome Reception and Gala Dinner, as well as exciting social evening excursions. Fees will range from R4,250 - R7,000 (approx. $600 - $1,000), with discounts offered for delegates from developing countries.
> Cape Town has a wide range of accommodation options to suit all tastes and budgets. Accommodation prices range from R1,000 - R2,500 per night (approx. $140 - $360) > It's not all work and no play! To assist 6SCWC delegates in having the "ultimate" Cape Town experience, the 6SCWC Social Programme Committee has planned an exciting social programme, as well as additional day tours.
> South Africa and its neighbouring countries offer wonderful pre & post congress travel opportunities to international delegates. Those who have not yet been to Africa should really take advantage of the opportunity to view Africa´s awesome wildlife.
> A full Accompanying Persons' programme has been developed for the enjoyment of those travelling to Cape Town with 6SCWC delegates, which will showcase the splendour of Cape Town and its surroundings. Accompanying Person Packages will be at the cost of R2,000 (approx. $285)
